Why can&#8217;t we just say &#8220;I went to the store, and I bought paper, pens, pencils, snacks, and a book&#8230;&#8221;?<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Similarly, why does Facebook have to say&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>John Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Robert Doe commented on his status<\/li>\n<li>John Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Robert Doe commented on his status<\/li>\n<li>Jane Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>John Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>John Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Douglas Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I don&#8217;t know about you guys, but I hate geting 46 notificaitons about two people commenting back and forth about one person&#8217;s status.<\/p>\n<p>So, why can&#8217;t Facebook just say:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>John Doe, Robert Doe, Jane Doe, and Douglas Doe commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status (8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Or even simpler:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>John Doe and 4 other people commented on Robert Doe&#8217;s status (8)<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>This would clean up notifications by 100% and more, especially for people who like to comment on other people&#8217;s statuses.<\/p>\n<h1>The final result<\/h1>\n<p>Instead of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Jane Doe posted something on your wall<\/li>\n<li>Xavier Doe posted something on your wall<\/li>\n<li>John Doe commented on his status<\/li>\n<li>Jane Doe commented on John Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>John Doe commented on Jane Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Albert Doe commented on John Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Albert Doe commented on Jane Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Robert Doe commented on John Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Douglas Doe likes your comment: &#8220;Facebook notifications suck.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Robert Doe likes your comment: &#8220;Facebook notifications suck.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Edward Doe likes your post<\/li>\n<li>Frederick Doe commented on Jane Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Nora Doe likes your post<\/li>\n<li>Oprah Winfrey likes your post<\/li>\n<li>Bethany Doe commented on John Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>why not&#8230;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Xavier Doe and Jane Doe posted something on your wall<\/li>\n<li>Bethany Doe and 4 others commented on John Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Frederick Doe and 2 others commented on Jane Doe&#8217;s status<\/li>\n<li>Douglas Doe and Robert Doe like your comment: &#8220;Facebook notifications suck.&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Oprah Winfrey and 2 others like your post<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Good idea?
