Here&#8217;s some of my favorite new features:<\/p>\n[slideshow]\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h1>What this means for Twitter<\/h1>\n<p>I believe the new Twitter didn&#8217;t just focus on aesthetics, but also had a social initiative to it. Facebook has always been regarded as a better social network because it brought people together more: games, applications, friend suggestions, etc. Now Twitter has caught up a great deal while still maintaining its identity. Going to peoples&#8217; profiles and following them is a whole lot easier now, you can see mentions, replies, and retweets of users in the sidebar, and now, you can even see pictures sent via <a href=\"http:\/\/twitpic.ccom\" target=\"_blank\">TwitPic<\/a>. The quality of Twitter as a social networking site has improved tremendously because of this new design.
