Yesterday, Day 10, was the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. Traditionally, this day is spent with family, so we didn’t go anywhere.<\/p>\n

Today, we went to the Jinli Historic Town, a site dating back to the Three Kingdoms Period (220-280). Back then, it was one of the busiest streets and an important center for commerce. The architecture of the site today closely represents that of the original town, but contains a mix of traditional and modern building occupants.<\/p>\n

Inside the historic town. The architecture has been well preserved, with modern fixtures integrating harmoniously. Shops line either side of the pedestrian walk.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Even the Starbucks Coffee is nicely integrated into its historic building! Inside, you can find a mix of antique and modern furniture, including a very fancy outdoor courtyard.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
\"Miniature<\/a>
Miniature Buddha stone carvings from jade. Also available from the same vendor are elaborate purple jade carvings of various sorts.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

It is not uncommon to find food, clothing, and souvenir vendors on the same street!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n
