{"id":5510,"date":"2016-01-05T14:30:28","date_gmt":"2016-01-05T22:30:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/g-liu.com\/blog\/?p=5510"},"modified":"2016-01-04T20:35:33","modified_gmt":"2016-01-05T04:35:33","slug":"keep-an-eye-on-link-rot-on-your-wordpress-site","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/g-liu.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/keep-an-eye-on-link-rot-on-your-wordpress-site\/","title":{"rendered":"Keep an eye on link rot on your WordPress site"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>This post is a follow-up to <\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/g-liu.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/strategies-for-squashing-broken-links\/\" target=\"_blank\">The problem of link rot, and how you can fight it<\/a><em>, which discussed the problem of link rot and how to prevent it.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/g-liu.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/strategies-for-squashing-broken-links\/\">a previous post<\/a>, I discussed the problem of link rot,\u00a0why it happens, and some ways you can fight link rot on your website.\u00a0Fortunately, WordPress users are very lucky to have multiple\u00a0plugins to detect and mitigate this problem.\u00a0One of the\u00a0best plugins available is <a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/broken-link-checker\/\" target=\"_blank\">Broken Link Checker<\/a>, which is a fully-featured yet simple to use plugin that can automatically detect broken links, allowing you to fix them with ease.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h1>Find broken links automatically<\/h1>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/wordpress.org\/plugins\/broken-link-checker\/\" target=\"_blank\">Broken Link Checker<\/a>\u00a0(BLC) is a\u00a0plugin actively maintained by ManageWP and Vladimir Prelovac. It&#8217;s as easy to install as any other WordPress plugin, and once it&#8217;s installed, BLC will scan all of your content to find dead links. In fact, you may see a variety of errors in your broken link report, including false positives.<\/p>\n<p>After you have successfully identified where the broken links are located on your site, BLC can help you fix those links. Its intuitive user interface allows you to patch most links with a few clicks.
