Be prepared!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>At the time of this writing, it is 48 hours after the fallout of Gmail&#8217;s botched April Fools&#8217; Day prank. In case you haven&#8217;t heard of it, Gmail basically introduced a joke button, the &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/gmail.googleblog.com\/2016\/03\/introducing-gmail-mic-drop.html\" target=\"_blank\">Mic Drop.<\/a>&#8221; Upon hitting that button, Gmail would cleverly attach a microphone drop GIF to your email, like the one below:<\/p>\n<figure style=\"width: 610px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.digitalresponse.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/04\/Minion-Mic-Drop-Imgur.gif\" alt=\"This image was inserted into every email sent through Gmail's Mic Drop feature.\" width=\"610\" height=\"371\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-caption-text\">This image was inserted into every email sent through Gmail&#8217;s Mic Drop feature.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Little did they know that this feature would provoke outrage among users, even\u00a0causing some to lose their jobs.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/gmail\">@gmail<\/a> This is outrageous! We&#8217;ve all sent an email on accident, whether to the wrong person, without the attachments, or in an incomplete state. If only there was an &#8220;Undo&#8221; button to get us out of these mishaps! Luckily for Gmail users, there is.<br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<h1>Enable &#8220;Undo Send&#8221;, it could save your bacon<\/h1>\n<p>It&#8217;s pretty simple to turn on the one feature that could save you many headaches down the road. Go to your Gmail settings (<a href=\"https:\/\/mail.google.com\/mail\/u\/0\/#settings\/general\" target=\"_blank\">link for the lazy<\/a>), and scroll down to Undo Send. Check the box, and set the cancellation period to your desired amount (mine is at 20 right now).<\/p>\n<p>That&#8217;s it. For example, if you choose to enable undo for 20 seconds, then your email will be sent at least 20 seconds\u00a0<em>after<\/em> the moment you pressed Send. If\u00a0your line of work is <strong>extremely<\/strong> time critical, then this feature may not be you.<\/p>\n<p>The Undo button is available right after you send your message. But if you click anywhere else in Gmail, that notification will disappear. Lesson: click carefully!<\/p>\n<h1>Is it still worth it?
