Today, The Thought Box turns five years old. I first registered this blog on WordPress on the 30th of May, 2009, to blog about my defeat in an epic Twitter battle. Looking back, that battle wasn’t really that epic. But the fact that this blog has been on the Internet for five years today is an event I wouldn’t have dreamed of back then.

I moved The Thought Box out of WordPress about a year and a half ago, and it’s been growing ever since. I’ve learned some vital web development skills since the transition as well, such as using WordPress-style PHP to design themes.

You can still see the legacy Thought Box at http://geoffliu.wordpress.com/, even though there’s scarcely any content there. But WordPress.com is where this blog got started, and a WordPress blog it shall remain.

WordCamp 2014

This year will also mark my first year attending WordCamp Seattle 2014. I’m very excited to learn more about WordPress development, meet people who use WordPress, and of course, the free WordPress t-shirts!
